Job Description

Our client is looking for a temporary Accountant to cover a 2-3 month LOA. The pay is based on experience with a target range of $30-$40/hour. On-site: Hastings, MN.

Job Description:

  • Apply customer payments accurately to open invoices
  • Assist with customer account reconciliations and inquiries
  • Review, verify, and input vendor invoices into the accounting system
  • Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices
  • Prepare and cut manual and system-generated checks
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure timely payments
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations during month-end close
  • Organize and maintain physical and digital accounting records
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial transactions
  • Assist with internal audits and year-end reporting
  • Support other departments with financial documentation and reporting needs
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical and accounting tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a transactional or bookkeeping role
  • Strong understanding of A/R and A/P processes
  • Experience with paper-based accounting workflows
  • Proficient in data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Comfortable working with paper files, manual check processing, and traditional office equipment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data
